North Kivu: Nearly 100 children victims of insecurity will benefit from assistance (Viglojrdc)

The non-profit association Global Vision for Youth Orientation (VIGLOJ) announced this Wednesday, August 7, 2024, a program to provide assistance to children, victims of insecurity in the eastern part of the Democratic Republic of Congo. 

 

According to VIGLOJRDC, these are children whose ages vary between 7 and 12 years old from vulnerable households under the responsibility of widowed women supported by a mother of goodwill in the town of Butembo who will benefit from this assistance. These children from insecure areas characterized by the identified massacres will be provided with school supplies.The overall vision of guidance for young people specifies that this activity falls within the framework of the promotion of Article 26 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) specifying that elementary education is compulsory. 

 

The beneficiaries of this program will each receive a uniform, notebooks, pens and school bags before the start of the school year, adds the Global Vision of Youth Guidance.

 

 In partnership with woven Foundation, VIGLOJ indicates that this program running from August 1 to September 5 concerns child victims housed in the town of Butembo. This organization adds that this program will also extend to the city of Goma and the territory and city of Beni.

 

 Note that as part of the materialization of this program, the agents concerned will carry out raids in the targeted entities and this after informing the local authorities on the progress of this news.
