Defending principles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights

VIGLOJ trains young people in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights principles. The module of training embraces different education approaches that derive from the Robert F.Kennedy Human Rights, The World As It Could Be, and Young People for the International Human Rights .The young people learn these principles through active activities and more importantly, they explore their concrete actions to be human rights defenders. Through this important area of activities, young people committed themselves to being agents of change through emulating the most courageous acts of human rights defenders from Congolese society and beyond such that they can follow in their footsteps. Through the VIGLOJ trainings, giant commitments taken by young people have positively influenced a course of actions in local politics, education, and environment, among others.

From 2015-2017 VIGLOJ conducted a youth education campaign on human rights in the context of fighting any form of discrimination based on tribal affiliation and in the context of education which is in accordance with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. More than 1200 young people grouped in 12 local youth associations have benefited from summer training.
